what a narrative mess. i feel like they casted actual wooden marionettes.
the film also looked bad. maybe it was just the projector, but the focus looked soft and honestly the cinematography was just such a convoluted mess. 1st AC was drunk or something, so many shots had brief focus hunting. either that or they were shooting wide open for no reason on long lenses. also crazy chromatic aberration and distracting falloff for no reason. wonder what lenses they used.
action scenes were cool tho. giancarlo esposito was fun to watch. harrison ford too.

obviously not the best movie ever but i appreciate that it didn't try to more than what it was. it was mindless action with a love side plot, and that's all it needed to be.
could've done without all the narration though, especially Rose.

the visuals were absolutely stunning, as was expected. but honestly, i was very disappointed with the narrative. cloning the antagonist that died over ten years ago, while supposedly feasible in a universe with avatar cloning and galactic travel, was the laziest thing James Cameron could have come up with.
some of the dialogue was incredibly clunky and cheesy, and some of the scenes were also completely forced, and lacked substance. i keep thinking of the scene with Spider and Kiri…
