The Brutalist 2024
Saw this on 70mm in London. I’ve been thinking about it all day and would love to rewatch, it’s a feast. Marble quarry scenes are incredible, cast, choreography, wardrobe, set design, lighting. I ate it all up. The heroine love scene reminded me of the Rolling Stones album cover Goats Head Soup, beautiful and tragic.
Long films should be used as a tool to improve the attention span. I was engrossed. Having an intermission is charming. Gutted to find out it’s not a true story but essentially it is.
