Weaving of personal and political research. It’s an intellectual piece that investigates how steep the Olin foundation’s influence has in the conservative movements that spans over 60 years. The film is driven by voiceover, at times sarcastic in tone. Lee Anne takes us into her mental space.
What you see is what you get. We watch Chantal Akerman from a distance, giving us a glimpse of how she worked on set. I particularly enjoy the non narrative style as we immerse on set, grasping as many clues as we can just as probably how the person behind the camera was wrapping their head around the events unfold in front of them. It was an experience throughout the film, a precious one to be able to stay in the same room as Chantal Akerman as we witness her work.
