Alien: Romulus 2024
Pros: Delivered on the hype. Doesn't want to be more than what it is, absolutely free of Scott's grand but ill-fated ambitions of origin stories. Great sound and set design, great nods to predecessors, often (but not always) spectacular. Atmospheric and fun, what else do you need? Cons: final monster was disappointing. Synthetic CGI is terrible and kinda graverobbing.
