Heart wrenching, reminds me of "City of Night" by John Rechy, and the closest we'll get to that novel depicted on screen. The gayness was ahead of its time, while also a product of a bygone era. No more grimy and secret hook ups at Times Square, or blow jobs and handies in porn theaters. However, one can still appreciate the struggle Joe Buck endures in forcing himself to surrender to circumstances. My faggots will love this.
