  Anna Kendrick's directorial debut, blending true crime with social critique. Based on the unsettling story of Rodney Alcala, a serial killer who appeared on The Dating Game in 1978, the film explores how societal sexism allowed his crimes to go unchecked. Kendrick does a great job building tension without exploiting violence, focusing instead on the subtle threats women face daily. 💜

  While it’s not a perfect thriller, Kendrick’s sharp direction and the film’s critique of systemic misogyny make it a compelling watch.
