Was hoping this'd be bad but it's really just boring and unmemorable neoliberal propaganda masquerading as progressive feminist history. It's a by-the-numbers biopic that like all others whitewashes its subjects and oversimplifies a number of relationships and situations so that an audience of laymen can understand what's going on and applaud on cue.

I find the whole dialogue about change and progress in the film to be fairly laughable. Ginsburg has an internal conflict early on as she's frustrated she's…

Fourth watch and there are still new details to notice and chuckle at. The Big Lebowski is a perfect movie with no flaws whatsoever. Everything from wardrobe to sound design to lighting to performances to writing to soundtrack is PERFECT. Boring, thoughtless, tactless, and totally unremarkable; everything a war movie shouldn't be. There are lots of different ways to make a movie about war and physical conflict and many of those different ways work despite being totally different tonally, thematically, and technically. Somehow, Civil War has invented a new, novel approach to depicting warfare: make it bland, uninteresting, and totally devoid of humanity.

I want to say there was at least a vision with this film's cinematography. It's about photojournalists…
