Went into this completely blind and was really blown away - a technically phenomenal, extremely well written film. A very uncomfortable watch given the subject matter, but it really gives you a lot to think about and sit with. Naturally the issues of grooming/trauma are there on the surface, but I also thought it got into some really interesting questions about the boundaries between artist and subject, especially when the art in question portrays real people whose lives are tangibly affected by both the original incident and all the emotions that are drudged up by the creative process.
very strong contender for "film that made me cry the most" this year
pros: cool action scenes (particularly the ones in the past, imo) and sweeping establishing shots with a swooping eagle which look just like the synchronization scenes in-game
cons: same ol' incoherent storytelling and somehow no clear antagonization of the templars??
