  I'm a little too dumb for this movie, I think.
  Or maybe I'm just not the audience for experimental films.

  I had formed a basic plot in my head based on the images I saw but a scene towards the denouement shattered my theory. So I was left stumped.

  A Star Is Born 2018

  You really get swept in during the first half.

  And then they get married, and like their relationship, it all goes downhill for the viewer.

  Few said that it was because the second half focused too much on Bradley Cooper. Personally, I don't mind.

  My issue was storytelling and editing. It almost felt like watching a biopic -- presenting disjointed, vignettes of their life without any peaks. The storytelling isn't seamless at all.

  Cinematography was great. Lady Gaga was amazing.

  Celeste & Jesse Forever 2012

  It was charming. But hard to empathize with Celeste's character as she didn't feel real to me -- maybe she needed less "com" in this "romcom."

  Hard to root for a toxic relationship, too. Approaching the third act I wanted to throw my pillow at the screen because GOD WHY DON'T PEOPLE EVER LEARN.

  The epilogue felt unnecessary, too. Or could have used better payoffs.
