The film is very much saved by the final twist, and is much more enjoyable on a second-watch because of it.
For that matter, the twist is nicely hidden and neither of my roommates guessed it.
I will say that a lot of the film’s jokes drag. Scenes go on for too long repeating the same joke over and over, and most of the time you already know where the joke is going to end. The twists in the film…
Watched this on opening day at 10:30am. Truly a magical experience. 10/10 comedy
This film should be in every list and ranking of ‘A Christmas Carol’ adaptations. Imo it’s the most underrated adaptation of ‘A Christmas Carol’, and deserves to be recognised for how well and purposefully it changes some aspects of the story to better cater to little girls, while still keeping the overall narrative intact.
