i think for a story about desire more focused on personal conflict than its predecessors it lacks a sense of humanity and depth + i wish the plague impacted the characters more it felt like it was there bc that’s what nosferatu does and not necessarily in service of anything. that said i did really really enjoy it ! the sound design especially stood out to me but costumes/sets/lighting etc were all gorgeous and perfectly crafted. well-paced tense and fun 🙂‍↕️ i left the theater and immediately googled “lilac flower symbolism”

so i’m sure there’s a lot of really meaningful symbolism and subtextual analysis to be done and i hope someone does it. not me tho i’m here for carnality viscerality indulgence and hot sexy gay women. and by god i got what i came for

absolutelyy a classic! charming funny sexy sweet witty. thoroughly real and tender … a deceptively easy watch for how rich and layered of a story it weaves. watch this movie if you haven’t and watch it again if you have !
