Four Unloved Women, Adrift on a Purposeless Sea, Experience the Ecstasy of Dissection 2023
As someone who has a visceral reaction to anything involving the dissection of the human body I have no idea why I decided to watch this. Anyway I really disliked it. It felt like a poorly developed attempt at exploring this nexus between women’s societal role of having to serve humanity with their bodies and the expectation to in return then being loved for it—only to lose that transactional love once their bodies decay.
Instead of making a critical point, the director's sole focus was to make it all look sexy and sensual. So it just came off as tasteless and weirdly self-indulgent.
