simultaneously very heartbreaking and very funny. i don’t know if im supposed to equate the two but buck’s naivety and goofy enthusiasm and ratso’s nasally voice and barking observations are just too comedic not for me to focus on (also the first lady’s dog baby is soooo fucking ugly i’m obsessed with it).

yet another film this month that pulls the curtains back from the american dream and exposes its true ugliness- disillusionment, poverty, objectification, exploitation (the list goes on)…

guys i promise my clinical research isn’t evil like this guys i swear!!! definition of mamas let’s research i loved the way he went from popping experimental drugs to a fucking phd student but it actually was believable! i’m slightly offput by the decision to make a real-life bisexual man so homophobic in his biopic but i do see how narratively overcoming homophobia and hiv at the same time makes for a great story. really hard to watch in the beginning i almost didn’t make it through but delightfully uplifting and bittersweet by the end. i always love to see steve zahn employed
