Poor Things 2023
.75 star for production design and .75 for sound
The film was giving nouveaux manic pixie dream girl, a heavy sprinkling of ableism (don’t argue with me), and a woman written by a man learning things about the world at the mental age many women do but with the added bonus that she’s a fully developed adult lady (so obviously men are allured by her “charms”) (and it quickly becomes infantilizing) Yay!
