Tippi hedren kind of did the damn thing. But despite the fact that this is the edgiest Hitchcock I’ve seen, I was kind of bored. It’s too damn long and Sean Connery is so unbelievably stiff. The psychological elements are really dated, and normally I don’t criticize a film for dated elements depending on what they are but crappy psychoanalysis is a pet peeve of mine and it was VERY present here

Epic, glorious, soaring in its scope. Saw it in IMAX and I transcended several times. Bring back VistaVision, those colors just bled out of the screen. Also, Felicity mf JONES. Like hello?
Took one star off because I found the ending clunky and awkwardly inserted in. I also felt as if Brody’s character was somewhat kept at arms length, although his scenes with Jones are searingly intimate.

mes reines, vraiment... this movie is like four different genres but fundamentally it's gorgeously gay.
also loved the comedic spin on catherine deneuve and isabelle huppert's normal screen personas. deneuve as the clasically cold ice queen who deep down is full of desire; isabelle huppert as the neurotic hysteric who just wants to be loved... yeah they were having an act off. Danielle Darrieux kind of stole the show at the end as well tbh. all in all had a ball with my gals
