  For the duration of my entire childhood, my cousins and I would skip to the 2hr24min mark of this movie on my grandparents’ VHS and watch the pie fight scene over and over again. We had it memorized and (I’m pretty sure?) we’d act it out, even though we had no idea who Miss Dubois and the Professor were.

  A few fun little twists, but nothing here really sticks for me. The film thinks it’s funny (sometimes, maybe, it is) and heartfelt (at least I think it’s going for that at some points), but the biggest sin is the extremely tired satire it tries to throw in. Ultimately, the marketing needed to reveal less about this, and it should’ve been about 10 times more deranged.
