  This movie's plot was about as predictable as a book falling when you drop it, but it wasn't bad. A little ironic that a critique of capitalism and working yourself to death was made by 20th Century Fox. I guess it's better than having glamorized it until the end, though. It really reminded me of All About Eve with its critique of an industry, how much was expected of the women within it, and the food chain/cycle of abuse, but…

  "it spawned a genre" and "it made history" ok? The fact that this movie launched a slew of zombie slop strewn across following decades is not doing it any favors. Eye-rollingly misogynistic with all the expected pitfalls of a 60s movie and many more; mid movie that inspired generations of mid movies to follow
