  An alchemist fleeing and battle bumps into other fellow wonderers in search of a non-existent ale house to numb the pains of the 17th century English civil war.

  As a setting, combined with a quick look at the stills from this film, I am immediately put off. Seems like a middle age male historian oriented film, in the vain of the 1964 reenacted docudrama Culloden, which although interestingly executed, bored me.

  Just my type of genre. Throughout hoped that the film would never end.

  Interesting, gripping story told in a smooth, well paced way with brilliant acting. Enough said.
