The NYC backdrop adds an interesting, slightly horrific twist of dark wonder, and the surprisingly deep emotional undercurrents left me tears. Not to mention…this much Black Hollywood royalty in one film???? I have no notes.

B.A.P.S 1997
I enjoyed Every Moment of this film. It’s not perfect by any means but I’m so grateful for its existence. The plot strikes a good balance between ridiculous and heartfelt and the oh so 90s feel is like a warm hug. BAPS is a required watch in the Black American Film Canon…if for no other reason than the Blackity Blackness of it all
