Grave of the Fireflies 1988
Honestly nothing really wrong with this movie, it does a great job telling a story with not a lot of words. The music and animation is great, but at the end of the day it is simply a difficult movie to watch because of what it’s about. Not my type of movie but it did provoke lots of deep contemplations of life.

This movie goes hard, I mean Leonardo DiCaprio is a great actor in general, but the plot of this movie was so intriguing, the twists and turns were captivating, and even the island’s name really portrays how the eeriness of the ambiance had me shuttering, without pushing me away from watching more.

I understand that this movie was kind of a statement piece for society, and I think the acting was great in it. The plot however was not my favorite, I think that the jarring timeskips hurt the flow of the movie, and the ending was also very lackluster in my opinion. It left me feeling unfulfilled, and I know some movies are just like that, but in that case I’m just not a big fan of those types of movies 🤷
