A big asterisk on this review, I was faded af when I watched this so I have snippets of memory to pull from as I write. Birdcage is very fun, fruity, and relevant to the current political climate. Queer joy is at the forefront of this film and the way conservatives in govt attempt to suppress it for political motives is an important theme. Certainly, there’s a harrowing timelessness to that. Beyond that aspect this movie was ahead of its time, beautifully shot, and really heart warming even though it is still a bit fuzzy in the brain. (,,𖦹﹏𖦹,,)
Vídeo brinquedo, the Brazilian animation studio famous for making movies that trick folks into buying them because they look like a far more popular film. The animation is strange and stiff (and kinda fun to watch in a guilty way) and the same words can be used to describe the plot. Shoutout to my vovó all those years ago for buying a dvd of this for me thinking it was Cars.
This gorgeous 2D animated Christmas romp is one of my favorite Christmas movies. The art direction never ceases to keep my eyes glued to the screen with the awesomely proportioned character designs, setting design and especially the lighting. This alternative Santa origin story always manages to pull a tear from my eye through its emotional ups and downs and then the next second get a little chuckle out of me! Great writing right there, sending this review stamped and sealed!

Alien: Romulus had me leaving the theater giddy with sci-fi horror excitement. This movie strives to capture some of the magic and thrill of the OG Alien movies and in many way succeeds. There were many very cleverly suspenseful parts, particularly with the facehuggers in this movie. Andy the Android was a fun addition to the protagonist’s team though I wish the main character was a bit more memorable… don’t remember what she was really like tbh besides being a…
