  I tend to dislike Dumont so viscerally that I was ready to hate watch this into the sun. Maybe it’s Lea Seydoux or perhaps it’s that he tones down his style to an appropriate level that makes this at least tolerable to me. The last hour starts with Dumont at his worst and the film salvages itself because Seydoux is so good.

  With every special, Kinane shores himself up as one of the best stand-up of this era. The Fast & Furious bit is an all-timer.

  Hunger is a visually spectacular film, no surprise considering McQueen's background. What makes it more than just visually striking is that McQueen tinkers with the idea of a message picture. Telling the story of IRA volunteer/prisoner Bobby Sands is going to fall in the realm of political picture.
