France 2021
I tend to dislike Dumont so viscerally that I was ready to hate watch this into the sun. Maybe it’s Lea Seydoux or perhaps it’s that he tones down his style to an appropriate level that makes this at least tolerable to me. The last hour starts with Dumont at his worst and the film salvages itself because Seydoux is so good.

Hunger 2008
Hunger is a visually spectacular film, no surprise considering McQueen's background. What makes it more than just visually striking is that McQueen tinkers with the idea of a message picture.
