Single setting films are probably one of the harder things to accomplish and do it well. Much like David Fincher's "Panic Room", this film has a decent premise, but heavily fizzles in the middle chunk of the movie.
Qualley and Abbott are fun to watch, they did the best they could, but the writing fell behind. The lack of commitment to really lean into the surrealism of the plot left a lot to be desired.

Yes Fincher yes! Completely unhinged and completely fun. A deranged and twisted version of Scorcese’s After Hours with a banger usage of White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane.
If Se7en didn’t exist I’d say this is Finchy’s best. Twisty and turny and a devastating bait and switch to top it all off. Douglas is fricken awesome in this.

The Hills Have Eyes counterpart. Significantly worse although the first 30 minutes had me believing otherwise.
Let me give you a scenario. You and three other people are trapped in a house with three inbred psychopaths who just butchered your friend, ate her, and are now in a food coma.

B. Kill said inbred psychopaths with whatever the hell you can…
Holy. This movie is real bad. Made it 45 minutes in and then just skipped to the end, brutal.
Watch “The Burning” instead if you’re looking for a slasher that isn’t one of the big franchises.
