  The lead that everyone hates is the best part of the movie, and everything else is painfully mid, outside of a couple fun renditions of classic songs

  First 30 minutes feels very lifetime-y and melodramatic but once Mildred’s life takes off so does the movie by a lot. Similarly to Iron Claw I don’t think it’s a story that can reach its full potential at just feature length. I could watch Emily Bett Rickards as Mildred Burke for hours.
