Guardians of the Galaxy 2014
On the whole, this film does a lot of world and character building in an efficient and entertaining way. A lot of folks remember this Marvel chapter as one of the funnier ones, and this isn't an accident. Better than other films in this saga, the writers and cast build up a group of characters with defining features that contrast and antagonize each other constantly.

For me this had it all: beautiful special effects, gorgeous cinematography, fantastic sound design/soundtrack, satisfying ending, effective fan service, A+ use of callbacks, and at least one punchy jump scare.
