  Christopher Nolan made Interstellar so Damien Chazelle could make First Man so Christopher Nolan could make Oppenheimer. 

  First Man is a technical marvel and showcases a director showing incredible heights of filmmaking. The sound design and score is balanced in a way that works so well, the anxiety pulse pumping of the rocket’s take off to the awe inspiring silence of the moon. The practical effects are stunning.

  This movie is lifted entirely by Garfield and Pugh who give very raw and real performances. The movie itself is not as fully flushed out as I had hoped and the script is pretty garbage. However, the performances deliver such memorable scenes that it will stick around for awhile in the romance relevancy

  Shout out to Starlet the Dog, what a great canine performance. This is another great Sean Baker film showcasing the different levels of companionship in our lives. He shows a very authentic view of how friendships can come in a variety of shapes, sizes and origins. Besedka Johnson gives a great performance as Sadie in her only accredited film role on IMDB, props to whomever discovered her on the Baker team in the gym that day. 

  Once again Karren Karagulian is a delight
