The Pope is dead but Ralph Finnes is here with one of his best performances. This was one of the best looking and crafted films with a ready great shot at the best picture award. It has you on edge with a crisp and clever screenplay and scipt. With lots of so many great performances throughout. It might have lost me a bit at the end but it still had my vote!

I'm perplexed about the reception this film has gotten and consistently I thought at times I was watching another film because I'm not a fan. I can appreciate the cinematography and vision of the film but when it's stretched over a 3.5 hours and with a ending that's just lazy I can't seem to wonder if I need to give it another go. The performances are the best thing from this one and I wouldn't be surprised if Adrien Brody wins the Oscar.
