The Menu 2022

Fargo 1996
This film was simple but masterfully done. It caught me off guard seeing William H. Macy as someone other than Frank Gallagher. The accents are brilliant and I had to restrain myself from trying to copy them mid-watch. I love how it subverts tropes, especially by our hero, Marge, being a pregnant woman, but her storyline focusing on her everyday life and job, rather than becoming a mother. The story plays with small actions leading to irreversible consequences. The shots are straightforward but very effective. The dialogue is the same. The Nice Guys 2016
I was going to continue trying to finish all the Oscar movies, but considering it being the end of the day, on 4 hours of sleep, this was the right choice. This was just a lot of fun. The plot can be considered a bit nonsensical sometimes, and they don’t waste time with convoluted technicalities and instead prefer to just continue the story. I was constantly entertained and the added dynamic of Holly made it different to other similar ‘buddy cop’ style films.
