This film raises interesting philosophical questions regarding identity and death through the exploration of Mickey 17 and his counterparts; however, it is also entangled into a commentary on capitalism and colonialism. Due to this balancing act, Mickey 17 is unable to juggle all of these themes with questions being left unanswered and depictions of present society feeling cheapened. The star of this film is Robert Pattinson’s masterful portrayal of all the Mickeys through subtle nuances and distinct character choices. This alone is worth the watch!
