Pan's Labyrinth 2006
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Why is the faun and Ofelia hugging so fucking wholesome it warms my heart like no other thing in this film
But also from a storytelling perspective, it's really sad that the only comfort that Ofelia has is something that could probably be something she made up to give her comfort and an escape from the dark and twisted real world. The fact that she had a father figure who died and how much the captain sucks, it's so sad that Ofelia has to dream one up for herself.
Pretty perfect film. Can't wait for Guillermo's frankenstein.

Eraserhead 1977
I'm so upset at myself I didn't get into Lynch's work before today. As someone who watches a lot of horror movies and is pretty desensitized to spooky stuff, this was an absolutely terrifying piece. Words cannot, will not, and should not ever be attempted to be described in a short review in letterboxd or anywhere else, so I'll leave whoever's reading this with this *complementary kamino child screeching*
