    An unexpected bleak departure from the previous film in the Alien franchise, David Fincher's Alien (cubed) takes a lot of risks, almost wholly avoiding any semblance of Cameron's grandiose blockbuster that preceded it.     "Dirty" Harry Callahan returns in this sequel to "Dirty Harry," taking on the only cops in sunny San Francisco dirtier than himself. Underrated director Ted Post brings a slightly pulpier approach to Magnum Force than the first entry. Still, the nonstop action and 70s Californian sleaziness combine to create an enjoyable continuation of the antihero character embodied by Clint Eastwood.
