If you have at least one scene with at least one woman putting on makeup in front of a mirror I’m sat.
I suspected going in that it would be sad but I was not mentally healthy enough to have watched this.
One of the things I’ve always been annoyed about with Lala Land was that it’s allegedly about dreaming and the cost of following those dreams no matter what etc. etc. but it reads more like talented people work…

The Substance 2024
I love (and hate) when a movie makes you confront and examine your own issues. This is such a fun movie that gets increasingly out there the longer it goes on. This is a rare movie where I thought it was going to end and was happy to see that it kept going. The scene where Elizabeth gets ready for a date haunts me.
