I’ve been living in and subjected to Trump’s America for almost a decade and have not encountered a less subtle satire.

Critical respect for Ethan Hawke providing borderline Nic Cage/“trying to win an Oscar” levels of overacting in a B movie.

An instant classic worthy of standing alongside Pixar's best, Soul continues the second-party Disney studio's long move into movies that are as much for adults as they are for the kids they're often watching them with a heart-wrenching yet sweet rumination on mortality and finding one's purpose. It's part of a larger 'What Makes You 'You'?' kick for Disney that includes Inside Out and, I'd argue (even though they're not Pixar), the Wreck-It Ralph films.

Well-made, if obviously corporate-approved and unwilling to touch on the darker side of children’s television and Nickelodeon in particular, The Orange Years: The Nickelodeon Story is an interesting look at the upstart period of Disney’s most credible American television competitor. Honestly, if I’d have known just how much they were winging it back when the shows they covered were still a thing, I may have appreciated it all more.
