A classic. It felt great to return to the suspense of this small-big-story.

"Meitä polttaa musta tuli, sieluun sataa ensilumi."

Incredibly well made fantasy film from late 80's Finland by Päivi Hartzell.

Production design, locations, lighting, costumes and cinematography with great lens choices and optical filters are very bold and interesting, therefore mezmerizing to look at.

Special mention to Outi Vainionkulma as Kerttu, doing her first and last performance in films and delivering true talent which only few child actors can manage.

Satu Silvo is stunning, uncanny and creepy at the same time…

I've always been drawn to fictional violence when it's delivered with style and depth. This film not only serves it up with flawless rhythm in an ultra setting but also offers a wealth of substance, from its rich world-building to its inspired direction of the actors.

It surpasses many domestic genre films produced with mid or large budgets, leaving Netflix originals feeling as soulless as someone performing confirmation camp carols in a karaoke bar. Moreover, beyond its nods to Pyun, Fulci, and Pepin, the film evokes genuine emotions through its heart-wrenching story, making it a compelling experience for genre-conscious viewers.
