Annihilation 2018
I've always loved eldritich horror and this is one of the only movies I've seen recently to really capture the feeling of complete helplessness to a situation nobody understands. The ending of this film is a slight let down in my opinion but in any movie where the entire premise of the horror is based off of the unknown its hard to have a satisfying conclusion. This is however a pretty common theme in lovecraftian horror with there being a lot of stoties with someone barely escaping with their life not actually changing anything or going insane. This films ending had an interesting twist.

one of the worst book adaptions of all time of all time which is stunning given the incredible visuals(other than Hesters scar) maybe a book movie shouldn't make the next 4 books completely impossible due to changes made in adaption
