Rewatched this absolute classic with my youngest brother tonight and it’s incredible how much funnier parts of this are after working in fast food for over a year. I thought it was hilarious on first viewing, but the giggles were even more abundant this time around.
Everyone in Good Burger’s gonna earn the wrath of the health department for not wearing gloves when handling all that food, not just Spatch! One thing Mondo Burger could actually nail Good Burger with, no foul play required.
A marginal improvement over the Christmas special, simultaneously weighed down heavily by rough patches of groan-inducing writing and elevated significantly by some A+ kid-friendly nightmare fuel at the end, so it evens out in “That was okay” territory.
As an unashamed Bad Guys nut, I still enjoyed it - for all the mediocre jokes and lines that feel like they came into the world half-baked, there were a few remarkably good character interactions in here, and the spooky vibes are on point - but it is immensely disappointing that more love isn’t put into these shorts by the studio.
Pardon me for kinda indulging in a stereotypically snappy Letterboxd review of my own, but in under an hour and a half this movie does to your tear ducts what forty years of chain smoking does to your lungs. I cried a very normal amount, totally, definitely.
