Grave of the Fireflies 1988
A raw and graphic portrayal of war, the inherent human will to survive and the importance of protecting childhood innocence. I have never been so deeply, painfully affected by such a beautifully crafted film in my life. It feels like when the sun is shining on a bitterly cold winter’s day; so cold there is no rain or snow left to fall from the clear, blue sky. I am empty inside and have no more tears left to shed.
