A Real Pain 2024
To have a whole monologue of David saying that he wanted to be more like Benji—the one who lights up the room when he enters—only for us to discover at the end of that same monologue that being Benji isn’t that easy either.
I think that’s the whole point of this movie: how pain is something so intimate and personal that, no matter how much people try to be empathetic toward it, in this journey, we’re kinda alone.

Not an awful movie, but an awfully boring one.
I think the idea of flirting with the supernatural only to realize that the most frightening and haunting thing is this familial relationship is very interesting. It's just that the movie is really boring.
The last scene, where the dad was in a mental confusion, showing signs of dementia like his mom, is one of the most frightening things I have ever watched—better than a lot of horror movies.
The movie has some interesting ideas, but again, the execution is too boring.
