The issue lies in the lack of any genuine horror or suspense in this movie. The first murder, where Iris kills the Russian guy (whose name I already forgot), doesn’t evoke fear or shock. It’s a lifeless scene. she simply returns home covered in blood, and the horror evaporates the moment Josh commands Iris to “shut down,” revealing she’s a robot. What should have been a tense, unsettling moment turns into a flat plot reveal.
The thriller aspect also crumbles.…
