There were several things that me and my girlfriend wondered after the film ended. One was the unnatural writings (in Vietnamese) of the dialogue and its delivery, the other was the symbolism of the film's title: Việt and Nam. Promising story, but the ending didn't really hit the way I thought it was supposed to be. Visually there are a lot nice (and not so nice) shots, the Vietnamese dialogue was a huge improvement from average Vietnamese film, but there's still many "sượng" moments. The film was funny, but the audience's afterthoughts will probably lie with the plot and not the themes and problems it tried to tackle.
Perhaps the most Wes Anderson Wes Anderson movie I've seen so far
