Gender is a performance and this was THE performance.
I will admit I was multitasking throughout various parts of watching this so I lost a few plot points, but I was nonetheless transfixed. The dynamics and constant questioning and bending had me in a chokehold, I think I need to rewatch this ASAP.
I was mesmerized by every performance, particularly Harry Melling’s. Every glance, every touch, every flicker of yearning across his face. Wow.
This was Q U E E R. This was beautiful, stunning, ethereal, hot, and so so fun.

Man of the Year 2006
If The Pelican Brief was chewed, spit up, redigested, and vomited again and had a Robin Williams sticker slapped on it. Don’t get me wrong, Robin Williams was good, but the film went from comedy to thriller to romance to thriller to an anticlimactic ending. Eleanor never even told anyone about being suffocated and drugged??! Like dude that may have stopped the rumors and led to some sort of investigation. Well, maybe not, but she should have said something.
