Pan's Labyrinth 2006
I really enjoyed seeing Del Toro’s vision of interweaving mythical and real-world strife played out through some very compelling characters. It’s a beautiful story of fantasy and war that tells of how we may choose to serve the masters of this realm or the eternal goodness that awaits in the next.

Philip Seymour Hoffman yet again blows me away with a mesmerizing performance. With a suitable soundtrack and an excellent color palette in each frame, this movie made me forget how rather mundane the plot really is. It’s still emotional and gripping at times, and makes me interested in reading the real Truman Capote’s literature.
