Camp before I even knew what camp was. This changed lives in the Philippines. On rewatch, it does in fact live up to the campness of it and it was as good as I remembered it. Also, feminist.
This is probably my favorite scary/off-putting film. From the start, you are placed on defense with the opening sequence of events. And through the end, it did not let me get comfortable. It did not click to me that the claustrophobic scenes were actually the victims getting swallowed up, that was just genius on Peele's part.
P.S. Brandon Perea, I need you.
I was sat in front of our small TV on the carpeted living room of this Bakersfield, CA house that my father was renting. It was the first time that I was watching a Pokemon movie not on rental DVD but on LIVE TV via Cartoon Network. The older Pokemon movies were also emotional for me as a kid, but I did not expect to watch glory and gold on the screen that night. Oracion, the main song, was the reason I wanted to learn how to play music. After all these years, this is still my favorite Pokemon movie.
