I love each and every one of the fans in this film and I hope they went on to have a great life full of creativity. And I hope the stoned boy from Phoenix got home safe.
David is so polite and well spoken in this despite being visibly extremely unwell. But still putting out endless work and imagination. Much more enjoyable watching knowing that he made it past 30.

Angelina Jolie's latest directorial venture is a compelling historical drama about the violent and sudden communist takeover in 1970s Cambodia. Told from the perspective of the 8 year old daughter of an ex-government official, this child's eye view means we share in the confusion and fear of the characters, and together with the sparse use of dialogue relies on the audience to put the disturbing larger picture together. An important film about this dark period of the country's history, the suffering of children in wartime, and the careless cruelty of American foreign policy.
I enjoy plenty of bad films that nevertheless have something to say. The way to truly get on my bad side is to throw money at something that thinks it is profound, but actually has no clue about the message it wants to get across.
