It was heavily marketed as a "cannibal film" but that came out as nothing more than a small element in the backdrop --a metaphor of what can isolate a small few from the norm. I liked that the characters were more likely unfolding rather than developing. Much of what they needed to move forward was already within themselves and discovering that each time was as natural as their hunger to feed. Bones and All is a very gentle exploration of leaving, running, finding, and learning to stay in between all of that. It was painful, good painful.

Andrew Scott’s use of pauses in between long strings of lines is a reminder of how the deafening silence reveals so much of us. Using silence to deliver emotions is common, but its effectivity varies. And this man delivered.
