take a shot every time someone mentions "gaveston"
using a monarch as a symbol for queer rights did not age well.
i couldnt watch this film continuously because it's just a bunch of ruling class people fighting against each other for power. the film frames it as homophobia, but it is understandable since this was a reflection of the AIDS crisis. great set and costumes though.
the real star here was the child and his huge earrings lol
