Tetris 2023

I figured I might as well start doing these again while in College Station. This movie was quite fun, and hopefully somewhat accurate, but the script/acting could be quite mediocre at times. It was funny, so it didn’t really affect my overall feel of it, but it’s hard to rate it higher when it was kind of mid in like quality.
I did like the sound effects a lot!

Love me some anti-war film
The shots were so good, the gore not as expected but welcome and certainly horrifying at times.
The music was phenomenal. I appreciated the sound design a lot.
The constant subversion of killing (seeming) mc’s to show the brutality of war was good and that reveal of Paul getting Heinrich’s clothes and then Eloise’s sash or whatever slowly being passed around was good too.

At first I was worried this movie would be bad because musicals in movies can be questionable but overtime the music grew on me and I enjoyed it more and more.
Extremely wholesome and catchy music with a lovely tone.
The ending completely caught me off guard but explained why it was so long. I hadn’t watched it before so I didn’t really recall the backdrop was Nazi Germany on the rise until roughly the conversation at the party.
