Me watching this now: man, the warnings against a society destroyed by rampant consumerism and the dangers of a human race gone lazy, the little details/ jokes/ Easter eggs that you can find if you pause, that whole BURN-E bonus feature masterpiece, all of the wonderful 2001 references, the cg, sound design, score, and all those little robots are so cool

The "throw-it-away-inator" which picks up modern problems and just tosses them out of sight for someone to deal with in the future is ABSOLUTELY a metaphor for pollution and climate change (alongside basically the whole film as well) and I love it
