Early in the film with a backstory about superheroes in legal trouble and forced government intervention really sets the tone and shows you the film takes it self seriously with quality writing and story telling. Especially as a kid you might not fully understand why people in the movie were against superheroes in the first place. So that would make you want the main cast of hero’s to succeed even more to show the people of their world that superheroes are really what they need.

Shrek 2 2004
After a recent watch I had to realized that this wasn’t just a great movie or a great sequel. This is unironically one of the best sequels to a movie of all time. You can tell from the soundtrack to the voice acting to the pop culture references of the time that there was a lot of time and hard work put into this film. I spent many years telling myself something in to movie is missing and that it’s not perfect but I can’t find a flaw. Will never get tired of this absolute classic.
