This is not a murder mystery.
Despite being dropped off into a tense and horrifying experience of what it could mean for a 13-year-old boy to be a suspect of murder, this show is a complete subversion of the horrible gripping way we have attached ourselves to the genre. DAMN I DID NOT APPRECIATE THIS MOVIE ENOUGH.
I think that coming from the bright exciting cast of the first movie, along with the riveting plot and turns, this movie felt different. Having to shift my expectations during the film made it a little harder for me to grasp onto the allure and universe as its predecessor.
